Rise and shine, lovelies! Today is about love and romance, about couples that love to celebrate!
I strongly believe that we should celebrate love everyday: the love for our partner, the love for our parents, the love for our friends. We should cherish and be thankful for each day we get to spend together in the most simple way, by talking kind to each other, having a romantic dinner, going out for a glass of wine or doing something we enjoy. Easily said than done because life happens and daily problems take the most of our time and of our energy.
So, from time to time, I think it’s necessary to have a reminder: “Hey! I know you have a lot on your mind from work and maybe you have some money issues or you’re worried about something, but take a break! Not for the entire day, maybe just for a few hours. You know why? Because it’s Valentine’s Day. Yeah..I know it sounds cheesy, but you know what? You always find a reason to not do anything romantic because maybe it’s not your type and please don’t say that you buy flowers or chocolates everyday because you don’t. It’s not that hard to be romantic and to make a nice surprise for the one you love.”
This is Valentine’s Day – a yearly reminder that love must be celebrated. If possible, I could celebrate every holiday there is on Earth. I love a good reason to party and just be happy. I love buying gifts and mostly I love the emotions from a day like this. The rising heart rate, the puppy eyes, all that mumbling and thoughts on buying the perfect gift. I love all of this because it means you care and you wish to be involved 100% in making a day to remember for your better half.
When I hear about Valentine’s Day, I automatically think about red roses (simple and elegant), chocolate pralines (Godiva would be a great choice or anything Belgian), nice lingerie (my everyday choice is Intimissimi and for today a red satin piece from their collection, they are extremely comfortable and very sexy), a beautiful dress and high heels (there is nothing more feminine than that)., I add some beauty products: a sensual perfume and body cream and I’m ready to go out for the mandatory romantic dinner (I don’t go out very often in the middle of the week, so I rather have dinner at a nice place than stay at home.).
On this day, love is in the air everywhere you go! And you see heart-shaped cakes, balloons, candles…almost anything. But you also see smiling couples, holding hands and talking about the moments they share and about the future they wish to build together.
For a proper celebration all you need is…love!
I also feel to extend any holiday from one day to one week (party animal, you may say) simply because I love the feeling of a holiday. So, for me, this week is all about love: watching (for the 10th time) some romantic movies (The Notebook, Love Actually, Bridget Jones, Casablanca, Dirty Dancing), reading love poems and love letters – famous all around the world (my favorite being the one that Johnny Cash wrote to his wife, June Carter), drinking red wine after dinner and burning scented candles while listening to some Italian or French love songs.
I posted below some inspiring photos for today, which I hope you will like.
I’m waiting to read about your romantic plans for the day and please don’t hesitate in sending me some tips about some beautiful new places in town just perfect for a dinner in two!
Happy Valentine’s Day! Spread love everywhere you go!
